Celebrating in Back of the Yards

What Back of the Yards venues usually need

Back of the Yards grew up around the Union Stock Yards, and the limestone Stockyards Gate at Exchange and Peoria still stands as a reminder. Generations of Polish, Lithuanian and Mexican families settled in the workers' cottages and frame two-flats here, and the Back of the Yards Neighborhood Council, founded in 1939, remains part of local identity. Celebrations are big and family-centered.

For backyards and gangways, plan a tent or canopy, tables and chairs, linens, string lights and, after dark in spring or fall, patio heaters.

For banquet halls along 47th and ashland and parish halls, plan linens, upgraded chairs and uplighting, which change a plain hall more than anything else.

For sherman park and davis square park, plan tables, chairs and a canopy if the permit allows, plus a generator or battery lighting where there is no power.

A joyous couple enjoys throne chairs and flower walls for celebrations as their sweetheart seating backdrop, toasting with dinner guests inside an elegant clear-top tent decorated with chandeliers, the kind of setup we arrange in Back of the Yards

FAQ

Party rentals in Back of the Yards: questions

Where can I rent party equipment in Back of the Yards?

Build a quote on Beyond Chiavari with everything you need, from tents and tables to linens and bounce houses. We confirm availability with Chicago-area rental partners that deliver to Back of the Yards, Chicago, then send one itemized proposal with delivery and setup included.

How much do party rentals cost in Back of the Yards?

It depends on the items. Tables start at $3.30, linens at $0.83 and tents at $1.10 per item through Beyond Chiavari. Delivery, usually $150 to $400 per order, setup, a damage waiver and tax are added on the quote.

Can I get tents, tables and chairs on one order in Back of the Yards?

Yes. Add every category to one quote and we coordinate the partners, so you get one proposal, one delivery window and one contact for your Back of the Yards event.

Do I need a permit to host a party at Sherman Park?

Park gatherings may need a Chicago Park District permit, especially large groups or rented equipment. Check with the district for current rules before booking. We can't interpret those rules for you, so confirm what applies with the right office, then share the approved setup time and vehicle access with us so delivery and pickup fit your plan.

Can you deliver to a backyard with a narrow gangway?

Yes. Tell us the gangway width and steps, and we'll plan to hand-carry chairs and tables with a longer setup window. Include a photo or quick sketch, the nearest place a truck can stop, and any stairs, gates or elevators in your quote request. Delivery, setup and pickup are itemized together, so more detail means a more accurate quote.
