Questions

Fencing & crowd control rental FAQs

Do I need a permit for barricades on a Chicago street?

Street closures for block parties need a City of Chicago permit, which comes with its own barricades in many wards. Private property events do not need a permit for rope-and-post stanchions.

How many stanchions do I need?

One post every 6-8 feet of line, plus one at each end and each turn.
