Celebrating in Kankakee
Kankakee is the seat of Kankakee County and a river city built around the Kankakee River. The Riverview Historic District, with its Victorian mansions, includes two Frank Lloyd Wright houses, the Warren Hickox and B. Harley Bradley houses, and downtown is anchored by the courthouse and the old Illinois Central rail corridor, which still carries Amtrak service. Riverfront parks follow the water and draw festivals through the summer.
Gatherings here lean toward family and faith. Church halls, community centers and backyards in neighborhoods on both sides of the river host many of the receptions, showers, quinceaneras and graduation parties. Kankakee River State Park is a short drive away and is a favorite for photos and picnics. Weddings often split between a church ceremony and a hall or tent reception.
For delivery, the river and rail lines shape routes, and Court Street and Route 45 carry through traffic. Kankakee sits at the southern edge of our delivery area, so we match you with the closest vendor and itemize delivery in every quote. Tell us the exact address and parking situation and we will plan the approach. Sending photos of the entrance and any steps helps us plan who carries what.
