Celebrating in University Park

What University Park venues usually need

University Park is a small Will County village best known as the home of Governors State University, with its Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park, theater and open campus grounds. The Metra Electric line ends here at University Park station, and Interstate 57 and Governors Highway tie the village to Matteson, Monee and Crete. The village is quiet outside campus events, so the surge in traffic and parking demand on commencement days is easy to notice.

For campus events and dinners and graduation parties, plan only what the venue does not include: often chairs, linens, chargers, lounge pieces or a dance floor.

For sculpture park gatherings, plan tables, chairs and a canopy if the permit allows, plus a generator or battery lighting where there is no power.

For church and banquet halls, plan linens, upgraded chairs and uplighting, which change a plain hall more than anything else.
