Celebrating in Lombard

What Lombard venues usually need

Lombard is the Lilac Village, and Lilacia Park, with its spring bloom and the village's Lilac Time festival in May, is the emotional center of town. Photographs by the lilacs, a downtown anchored by the Union Pacific West Metra station, and tree-lined streets of older homes give Lombard a polished, historic feel that few suburbs match.

For lilacia park and public gardens, plan tables, chairs and a canopy if the permit allows, plus a generator or battery lighting where there is no power.

For historic home and bungalow yards, plan a tent or canopy, tables and chairs, linens, string lights and, after dark in spring or fall, patio heaters.

For downtown and yorktown-area venues, plan only what the venue does not include: often chairs, linens, chargers, lounge pieces or a dance floor.

For church halls and community rooms, plan linens, upgraded chairs and uplighting, which change a plain hall more than anything else.
