Celebrating in Manhattan
Where Manhattan hosts use linens
Logistics reflect the rural setting. Gravel roads, long driveways and open fields mean wind and soft ground are real concerns, and some properties are a long haul from the nearest hard road. We ask for driveway details, gate widths and a firm staging spot, and we recommend booking early because fewer vendors cover this far-out area. Early outreach helps, because delivery to smaller villages is often scheduled alongside other jobs in the same area.
Farm and barn receptions
Working farms and barns host weddings. Plan for uneven floors, wind and long drives.
Linens here: Many barn tables look best bare with a runner. Rent napkins and runners and skip full cloths to save money.
Backyard weddings
Large lawns host ceremonies and dinners. Ask about flooring for soft ground.
Linens here: Floor-length linens hide folding tables but catch wind outdoors. Use clips or a lap-length cloth for breezy lawns.
Graduation open houses
Tents and buffet tables on spacious lots. Share your yard layout.

Church and village events
Suppers and festivals use halls and the village grounds with set load-in times.
Linens here: Hall tables are usually plain plastic, so full floor-length linens make the biggest difference in this kind of room.
Delivery notes for Manhattan
- Soft ground after rain can stall a truck. Offer a hard-surface staging spot.
- Because this area is farther out, book early so your vendor can plan the route and timing.
How to plan
Getting linen rentals right
- 01
Match each table
Floor-length cloths look formal; lap-length cloths are cheaper and fine for casual events.
- 02
One napkin per guest
Add 5% spares, plus cocktail napkins if you are serving passed appetizers.
- 03
Don't forget service tables
Gift, cake, DJ and buffet tables need linens too; they show up in photos.
- 04
Accent layers
Runners, overlays and chair sashes add color without replacing every tablecloth.
