Celebrating in Wilmington
Where Wilmington hosts use linens
Planning is rural and weather-aware. Low ground near the Kankakee can stay soft, wind sweeps across the prairie and some roads are narrow for large trucks. We ask about drive surfaces, gate widths and firm staging, and we encourage hosts to book early because Wilmington is at the far edge of many delivery routes. Fewer vendors serve this far corner of Will County, so sending your date and location early makes scheduling easier.
Riverside and Island Park events
Public riverfront parks host reunions and ceremonies. Check city reservations and vehicle access.
Linens here: Picnic tables need fitted or lap-length cloths; floor-length linens drag on the ground and stain on grass.
Farm and prairie-edge weddings
Barns and acreage host outdoor ceremonies. Plan for wind and soft ground.
Linens here: Many barn tables look best bare with a runner. Rent napkins and runners and skip full cloths to save money.
Church and community halls
Dinners and anniversaries use halls with set load-in times.
Linens here: Hall tables are usually plain plastic, so full floor-length linens make the biggest difference in this kind of room.
Backyard gatherings
Large lots host graduations and cookouts. Share your yard layout.
Linens here: Floor-length linens hide folding tables but catch wind outdoors. Use clips or a lap-length cloth for breezy lawns.
Delivery notes for Wilmington
- Prairie wind is common. Ask about weighted chairs and secured decor.
- Gravel drives and narrow roads can limit trucks. Share widths and surfaces.
How to plan
Getting linen rentals right
- 01
Match each table
Floor-length cloths look formal; lap-length cloths are cheaper and fine for casual events.
- 02
One napkin per guest
Add 5% spares, plus cocktail napkins if you are serving passed appetizers.
- 03
Don't forget service tables
Gift, cake, DJ and buffet tables need linens too; they show up in photos.
- 04
Accent layers
Runners, overlays and chair sashes add color without replacing every tablecloth.
