Celebrating in Homer Glen
Where Homer Glen hosts use linens
Planning is mostly about land and utilities. Many properties use wells and septic, so tents and large events need thought about stakes and drainage, and gravel driveways or narrow lanes can limit truck access. A pre-event note about drive length, gates and ground conditions is the best way to keep setup smooth. Because wells and septic fields are common, mention any areas where heavy vehicles or tent stakes should not go.
Homer Glen is one of the Chicago area's newest villages, incorporated in 2001, and it keeps a spacious, semi-rural feel with large lots, wooded streets and few sidewalks. Bell Road and 159th Street are the main routes, and the village sits between Orland Park, Lockport and Lemont, so guests arrive from many directions. Homer Glen was designed around open space, so lots, trees and gardens give hosts room that most suburbs cannot offer.
Large backyard weddings
Half-acre and larger lots host ceremonies and dinners. Plan for flooring on soft or uneven ground.
