Celebrating in Riverwoods
Where Riverwoods hosts use lighting
Riverwoods is a leafy village along the Des Plaines River, tucked between Deerfield, Lincolnshire and Bannockburn, with Deerfield Road and Riverwoods Road as its main arteries. Large lots, ravines and mature oaks define the landscape, and Ryerson Woods, a Lake County Forest Preserve with a welcome center and river trails, gives the village a wild edge. Getting a feel for how Riverwoods is laid out, from the main roads to the quiet side streets, is the first step in planning a smooth delivery.
Wooded estate lawns
Large lots with mature trees suit tented weddings and bar or bat mitzvah receptions. Choose level spots away from ravines.
Lighting here: String lights between trees or poles turn a yard into a venue after dark. Plan power runs and keep cords off walkways.
Graduation open houses
Backyard tents are the norm in late spring. Reserve early for May and June.

Riverside gardens
Land near the Des Plaines River can stay wet. Ask about boards under chair legs and ground protection.
Lighting here: Park events usually end at dusk; if yours does not, battery lanterns and uplights avoid the need for power.
Corporate and office gatherings
Nearby campuses host holiday and client events that may need lobby or atrium delivery.
Lighting here: Check what the venue's house lighting can do first, then rent uplights or pin spots for the cake and centerpieces.
Delivery notes for Riverwoods
- Steep or winding driveways can limit truck access. Share driveway details and gate information in advance.
- Floodplain and ravine areas can be soft or unsafe for setup. Pick flat, well-drained ground for seating and tents.
