Celebrating in Kane County
Where Kane County hosts use linens
Choosing a vendor zone here is mostly about which side of the river you are on and how far west you go. A delivery to downtown Batavia is a very different run than one to a barn near Maple Park. Send your address and we match you with the closest vendor, and your quote itemizes chairs, delivery and setup so nothing is hidden.
Kane County is built along the Fox River. Elgin anchors the north, Aurora anchors the south, and in the middle sit the Tri-Cities of St. Charles, Geneva and Batavia, where restored barns, riverfront parks and historic downtowns host a large share of the region's weddings. Geneva is the county seat, and the Metra UP West line and the BNSF line connect parts of the county to the city.
Riverfront parks and downtowns
St. Charles, Geneva and Batavia have riverside lawns and historic downtowns that host ceremonies. Parking and loading need planning.
Linens here: Picnic tables need fitted or lap-length cloths; floor-length linens drag on the ground and stain on grass.
Barns and farm venues
West Kane County has many barn and farm venues. Expect gravel lanes, uneven ground and limited truck turnarounds.
Linens here: Many barn tables look best bare with a runner. Rent napkins and runners and skip full cloths to save money.
Forest preserve gatherings
The Kane County Forest Preserve District rents shelters and sites for parties. Check their permit and vehicle rules first.
Linens here: Picnic tables need fitted or lap-length cloths; floor-length linens drag on the ground and stain on grass.
City halls and community events
Aurora and Elgin host quinceaneras, church events and community festivals that need large numbers of chairs.
Linens here: Hall tables are usually plain plastic, so full floor-length linens make the biggest difference in this kind of room.

How to plan
Getting linen rentals right
- 01
Match each table
Floor-length cloths look formal; lap-length cloths are cheaper and fine for casual events.
- 02
One napkin per guest
Add 5% spares, plus cocktail napkins if you are serving passed appetizers.
- 03
Don't forget service tables
Gift, cake, DJ and buffet tables need linens too; they show up in photos.
- 04
Accent layers
Runners, overlays and chair sashes add color without replacing every tablecloth.
