Celebrating in Glencoe
Where Glencoe hosts use linens
Spring and fall evenings can turn cool and breezy off the lake, so we help you plan for wind, lighting and warm-up time as well as seat counts. Tell us your guest list, your yard or site and your style, and we will suggest chairs and table layouts that suit the setting rather than a one-size package. The village is small enough that a call or two with the Glencoe Park District or village hall can settle most site questions.
Lakefront and park district sites
Glencoe’s beaches and parks are lovely for ceremonies, but access, hours and tent rules are set by the Glencoe Park District, so ask early.
Linens here: Picnic tables need fitted or lap-length cloths; floor-length linens drag on the ground and stain on grass.
Ravine and garden backyards
Sloped lawns and mature trees make beautiful settings. Ask us about leveling options for tables and where chairs can safely sit.
Linens here: Floor-length linens hide folding tables but catch wind outdoors. Use clips or a lap-length cloth for breezy lawns.
Botanic garden area weddings
The Chicago Botanic Garden is in Glencoe. Venue rules vary, so confirm what rentals are allowed on site.

Downtown and community spaces
Smaller receptions, showers and fundraisers around the village center are easy for guests who arrive by train.
Linens here: Hall tables are usually plain plastic, so full floor-length linens make the biggest difference in this kind of room.
Delivery notes for Glencoe
- For tents or large gatherings, check with the Village of Glencoe about any permit requirements before booking.
- Ravine lots can drain slowly after rain. A quick photo of where chairs and tables will sit helps us plan flat ground and pathways.
How to plan
Getting linen rentals right
- 01
Match each table
Floor-length cloths look formal; lap-length cloths are cheaper and fine for casual events.
- 02
One napkin per guest
Add 5% spares, plus cocktail napkins if you are serving passed appetizers.
- 03
Don't forget service tables
Gift, cake, DJ and buffet tables need linens too; they show up in photos.
- 04
Accent layers
Runners, overlays and chair sashes add color without replacing every tablecloth.
