Celebrating in Yorkville
Where Yorkville hosts use linens
Yorkville sits near Oswego, Plano and Sugar Grove, and rural farmland reaches right up to the edge of the city, so barn and farm weddings are within easy reach. Traffic on Route 47 and the Fox River bridge can slow trucks on weekends. Check with the United City of Yorkville about tents and event approvals, and request a quote early for May through October.
Riverfront Park and downtown
Riverfront lawns and downtown blocks suit ceremonies and festivals; confirm reservations with the city.
Linens here: Picnic tables need fitted or lap-length cloths; floor-length linens drag on the ground and stain on grass.
Subdivision backyards
Newer lots host tent parties for graduations, showers and birthdays.
Linens here: Floor-length linens hide folding tables but catch wind outdoors. Use clips or a lap-length cloth for breezy lawns.
Farm and barn sites
Rural land around Yorkville hosts weddings, with gravel drives and uneven ground to plan around.
Linens here: Many barn tables look best bare with a runner. Rent napkins and runners and skip full cloths to save money.
Group outings and park parties
Birthday and group events in parks need tables and chairs near pavilions; check reservation rules with the owner.

How to plan
Getting linen rentals right

Match each table
Floor-length cloths look formal; lap-length cloths are cheaper and fine for casual events.
- 02
One napkin per guest
Add 5% spares, plus cocktail napkins if you are serving passed appetizers.
- 03
Don't forget service tables
Gift, cake, DJ and buffet tables need linens too; they show up in photos.
- 04
Accent layers
Runners, overlays and chair sashes add color without replacing every tablecloth.
