Celebrating in River Grove
Where River Grove hosts use linens
Because many homes sit on standard village lots, we plan chair and table counts around the real footprint of the yard rather than an ideal one, and we keep an eye on parking, since many blocks rely on street spots only. If your celebration is a christening or first communion, we also ask about the time of the church service, since many families want chairs and tables ready the moment guests arrive from mass. A short note about whether pets will be in the yard helps too, since gates and latches are easy to miss when a crew is focused on carrying chairs.
More about River Grove
River Grove is a small, close-knit village along the Des Plaines River, with modest single-family homes and a strong sense of neighborhood. Its location near Elmwood Park and Melrose Park puts banquet halls and larger event spaces within easy reach when a backyard isn't quite big enough.
Backyard birthdays and christenings
Standard village lots suit a simple table-and-chair layout for family-style gatherings.
Linens here: Floor-length linens hide folding tables but catch wind outdoors. Use clips or a lap-length cloth for breezy lawns.Nearby banquet halls
Larger parties often move to a hall in Elmwood Park or Melrose Park; we deliver to either.
Linens here: Hall tables are usually plain plastic, so full floor-length linens make the biggest difference in this kind of room.Forest preserve and riverside photos
Green space along the Des Plaines River makes a nice backdrop for photos before or after a party.
Linens here: Picnic tables need fitted or lap-length cloths; floor-length linens drag on the ground and stain on grass.Graduation parties
Spring and early summer bring a steady run of backyard graduation celebrations.
Linens here: Venues often include white house linens. Renting colored or textured linens is the cheapest way to change the room.

How to plan
Getting linen rentals right
- 01
Match each table

- 02
One napkin per guest
Add 5% spares, plus cocktail napkins if you are serving passed appetizers.
- 03
Don't forget service tables
Gift, cake, DJ and buffet tables need linens too; they show up in photos.
- 04
Accent layers
Runners, overlays and chair sashes add color without replacing every tablecloth.
