Celebrating in Morris
Where Morris hosts use dinnerware
Delivery comes down to access. Route 47, Route 6 and I-80 handle most traffic, and the river and canal limit crossings. Morris is beyond Joliet, so we confirm the vendor and drive time before quoting. We itemize delivery in every quote so you can see exactly how the address affects the total. Tell us where the truck can park and how far chairs need to be carried from the street or lot.
Canal and riverside parks
Gebhard Woods and riverside parks suit small ceremonies. Confirm permits and vehicle access with the managing agency.
Dinnerware here: Parks rarely suit real china because of breakage and cleanup; consider rentals only for a seated dinner under a pavilion.
Parish halls and community centers
Morris churches and halls host receptions, showers and fundraisers with varied guest counts.
Dinnerware here: Halls often stock basic plates. Renting chargers and gold-rim plates upgrades the table at a modest cost.
Downtown courthouse events
Events near the courthouse square have limited curb space and loading.
Dinnerware here: At home, rental china means no dishwashing: plates go back scraped but unwashed. Plan a spot for the return crates.
Farm and country backyards
Surrounding farmland offers large lots and barn venues with gravel drives.
Dinnerware here: Stoneware and gold-rim plates both look good in barns. Ask whether the barn has a prep area for the caterer.
Delivery notes for Morris
- Morris is southwest of Joliet at the edge of our delivery area, so we confirm the vendor and drive time before quoting.
- Canal and river crossings limit routes. Tell us the exact address so the truck takes the right approach.
How to plan
Getting dinnerware and plate rentals right
- 01
List the courses
Salad, entree, dessert and bread each need their own plate per guest.
- 02
Add a charger
Chargers sit under each place setting and set the color story; they are removed before the entree.
- 03
Plan for buffets
Buffets need about 1.5 dinner plates per guest because people go back for seconds.
- 04
Coffee and dessert
Add cups and saucers for about 60% of guests if coffee is served.
