Celebrating in Forest Glen
Where Forest Glen hosts use lighting
Forest Glen is the northwest edge of Chicago, a community area that includes Edgebrook, Wildwood and part of Sauganash. It has a woodsy, almost small-town feel: large lots, mature trees and brick and frame homes along curving streets, with Cook County forest preserves like Forest Glen Woods and Billy Caldwell Woods wrapping around the neighborhood. The North Branch Trail runs through the preserves, popular for walking and biking.
Edgebrook and Wildwood backyards
Large, tree-filled yards suit backyard weddings and graduation parties.
Lighting here: String lights between trees or poles turn a yard into a venue after dark. Plan power runs and keep cords off walkways.
Forest preserve groves
Forest Glen Woods and Billy Caldwell Woods offer permitted picnic spaces through Cook County.
Lighting here: Park events usually end at dusk; if yours does not, battery lanterns and uplights avoid the need for power.
Edgebrook village cafes and halls
Small event rooms and patios host showers and birthdays.
Lighting here: Hall lighting is often harsh. Uplights in your colors and dimmed overheads change the room more than any decor.
Church and school halls
Parishes and schools host communions, fundraisers and receptions.

Delivery notes for Forest Glen

Drape
Pipe and drape is priced per running foot; use it to hide walls, storage or a kitchen door.
