Celebrating in Morton Grove
Where Morton Grove hosts use lighting
Morton Grove is a tight-knit village between Niles, Skokie and Glenview, with the Metra Milwaukee District North line passing through town and Dempster Street and Waukegan Road serving as its main arteries. Harrer Park, the Prairie View Community Center and the wooded edges of Linne Woods give families a variety of places to gather. Morton Grove’s parks and the Linne Woods forest preserve offer shady picnic spots and leafy backdrops for photos.
Backyard and garage parties
Many family events spill into the yard and garage. Tell us the available space so we can plan table sizes.
Lighting here: String lights between trees or poles turn a yard into a venue after dark. Plan power runs and keep cords off walkways.
Park district pavilions
Harrer Park and other Morton Grove parks host gatherings. The Morton Grove Park District sets reservation and equipment rules.
Lighting here: Park events usually end at dusk; if yours does not, battery lanterns and uplights avoid the need for power.
Church and community halls
Receptions after baptisms, communions and weddings often use halls. Ask what seating is on hand.
Lighting here: Hall lighting is often harsh. Uplights in your colors and dimmed overheads change the room more than any decor.
Banquet rooms along Dempster and Waukegan
Large celebrations may use banquet space nearby. Confirm furnishings before adding rentals.
Lighting here: Check what the venue's house lighting can do first, then rent uplights or pin spots for the cake and centerpieces.
