Celebrating in River Forest
Where River Forest hosts use linens
That mix means River Forest orders tend to be on the larger side: a few hundred chairs for a graduation tent, or eighty in a garden for a wedding. Soil near the river can stay soft after rain, so firm-footed chairs and a plan for ground cover matter. We help you size the order and confirm timing with the vendor.
Estate lawn weddings
Deep lots allow a ceremony and dinner on one property. Plan for level ground and a clear route from the street.
Linens here: Floor-length linens hide folding tables but catch wind outdoors. Use clips or a lap-length cloth for breezy lawns.
Graduation open houses
Dominican and Concordia season brings family gatherings and large tents. Order early in May and June.

Porch and garden parties
Older homes often have beautiful porches that pair well with wood or woven chairs.

Thatcher Woods picnics
Forest preserve groves need a reservation from the Forest Preserves of Cook County and a short carry.
Linens here: Venues often include white house linens. Renting colored or textured linens is the cheapest way to change the room.

How to plan
Getting linen rentals right
- 01
Match each table
Floor-length cloths look formal; lap-length cloths are cheaper and fine for casual events.
- 02
One napkin per guest
Add 5% spares, plus cocktail napkins if you are serving passed appetizers.
- 03
Don't forget service tables
Gift, cake, DJ and buffet tables need linens too; they show up in photos.
- 04
Accent layers
Runners, overlays and chair sashes add color without replacing every tablecloth.
