Celebrating in Lake Bluff
Where Lake Bluff hosts use concessions
Lake Bluff is a small village with a big sense of place. The Village Green, the walkable downtown on Scranton Avenue, the Metra station and the bluffs above Lake Michigan give it a quiet, old-fashioned feel. Sunrise Park and its beach offer open water views, and the tree-lined streets lead to homes with deep lots and gardens. Many families have deep roots here and plan celebrations close to home.
Garden and backyard receptions
Mature trees and formal gardens make beautiful settings but can limit tent placement. Map the flat areas first.
Concessions here: Concession machines need a level table and an outlet; popcorn and cotton candy machines each use a standard circuit, so avoid sharing it with a bounce house blower.
Village Green and downtown
Events near the Village Green need coordination with the village for public space use.
Concessions here: Venues often have exclusive caterers, so check whether outside concession machines are allowed.
Lakefront and bluff views
Open bluff areas are scenic but exposed. Plan for wind and check access rules for public beaches and parks.
Concessions here: Parks without power need a generator for concession machines, and some do not allow food stands without approval.
Rehearsal dinners and showers
Smaller gatherings in homes and private clubs call for refined, compact seating.
Concessions here: Venues often have exclusive caterers, so check whether outside concession machines are allowed.

Machines are self-serve with a volunteer; carts often include an attendant, so check what is included.
