Celebrating in Burbank
Where Burbank hosts use dinnerware
Lots are typically small, with garages and alleys behind them, so tables and chairs need to fit tight yards. Many events use a tent or garage to extend space. We help you plan counts and layout, flag alley access and steps, and time deliveries to avoid the heaviest traffic. A good plan on a small yard is mostly math: tables, chair counts, buffet line and a clear path for guests to circulate.
Bungalow backyards
Deep, narrow lots suit long tables and stackable chairs. Measure before ordering.
Dinnerware here: At home, rental china means no dishwashing: plates go back scraped but unwashed. Plan a spot for the return crates.
Parish and hall gatherings
Communion and fundraiser dinners often need extra chairs beyond what the hall provides.
Dinnerware here: Halls often stock basic plates. Renting chargers and gold-rim plates upgrades the table at a modest cost.
Garage and alley parties
Popular for graduations and birthdays. Tell us if the alley is clear for a hand cart.
Dinnerware here: Many venues and caterers include plates. Rent only what they don't have, such as chargers or dessert plates.
Park district events
Public parks need reservations. Check with the Burbank Park District or the city.
Dinnerware here: Parks rarely suit real china because of breakage and cleanup; consider rentals only for a seated dinner under a pavilion.
Delivery notes for Burbank
- Harlem Avenue and 79th Street are busy. Morning delivery windows are usually easier.
- Alley access is common. Share whether yours is paved and wide enough for a hand cart.
How to plan
Getting dinnerware and plate rentals right
- 01
List the courses
Salad, entree, dessert and bread each need their own plate per guest.
- 02
Add a charger
Chargers sit under each place setting and set the color story; they are removed before the entree.
- 03
Plan for buffets
Buffets need about 1.5 dinner plates per guest because people go back for seconds.
- 04
Coffee and dessert
Add cups and saucers for about 60% of guests if coffee is served.
