Celebrating in Blue Island
Where Blue Island hosts use linens
Because the village is dense and the streets are narrow in older blocks, delivery planning matters more than square footage. A few minutes spent on where the truck can stop, how far the carry is and whether the alley is usable can save an hour on setup day. We gather those details up front so your vendor arrives with a plan.
Church and parish halls
Lower-level halls hold communions, funeral lunches and anniversary parties, often with stairs and tight door widths to plan around.
Linens here: Hall tables are usually plain plastic, so full floor-length linens make the biggest difference in this kind of room.
Banquet rooms
Local banquet spaces host quinceaneras and receptions, and many want chairs that match a color palette rather than the house stock.
Linens here: Venues often include white house linens. Renting colored or textured linens is the cheapest way to change the room.
Backyard and alley lots
Deep lots behind older homes make good party space, but setup access may run through a side gate or alley.
Linens here: Floor-length linens hide folding tables but catch wind outdoors. Use clips or a lap-length cloth for breezy lawns.
Parks and pavilions
Village and park district pavilions suit graduation and birthday parties. Reserve early and confirm what the rental rules allow.
Linens here: Picnic tables need fitted or lap-length cloths; floor-length linens drag on the ground and stain on grass.
Delivery notes for Blue Island
- If the party space is a basement hall or second floor, tell us about stairs and elevators so crews and carry time are quoted correctly.
- Alley access can be tight with parked cars. A neighbor-friendly heads up the day before helps the truck get close.
How to plan
Getting linen rentals right
- 01
Match each table
Floor-length cloths look formal; lap-length cloths are cheaper and fine for casual events.
- 02
One napkin per guest
Add 5% spares, plus cocktail napkins if you are serving passed appetizers.
- 03
Don't forget service tables
Gift, cake, DJ and buffet tables need linens too; they show up in photos.
- 04
Accent layers
Runners, overlays and chair sashes add color without replacing every tablecloth.
