Celebrating in Libertyville
Where Libertyville hosts use lighting
Libertyville feels like a classic Lake County town with a real downtown. Milwaukee Avenue and Church Street are lined with brick storefronts, the Metra station anchors the center, and tree-lined streets lead out to bigger lots toward the Des Plaines River. Families come here for the schools, the farmers market and the parks, and many have lived in the same neighborhoods for generations.
Downtown Libertyville
Storefront event spaces and nearby halls can have tight loading. Plan carry distance and parking in advance.
Lighting here: Check what the venue's house lighting can do first, then rent uplights or pin spots for the cake and centerpieces.
Forest preserve backdrops
Independence Grove and other preserves are beautiful but have their own permit and access rules through Lake County Forest Preserves.
Lighting here: Park events usually end at dusk; if yours does not, battery lanterns and uplights avoid the need for power.
Neighborhood backyards
Mature trees and sloped lots in older neighborhoods mean you should map out level ground for chairs and tents.
Lighting here: String lights between trees or poles turn a yard into a venue after dark. Plan power runs and keep cords off walkways.
Church and school halls
Communions, graduations and anniversaries often use parish or school facilities. Ask what seating is already on hand.
Lighting here: Hall lighting is often harsh. Uplights in your colors and dimmed overheads change the room more than any decor.
Delivery notes for Libertyville
- Older Libertyville homes often have narrow gates and steep steps. A photo of the route helps us plan.
- Before putting up a tent on your property, check with the Village of Libertyville about any permit or inspection.
How to plan

- 02
String lights

- 03
Drape
Pipe and drape is priced per running foot; use it to hide walls, storage or a kitchen door.
