Indian weddings & sangeets idea
Marigold mehndi party
A marigold mehndi uses bright saffron and fuchsia with marigold garlands, low lounge seating and string lights, so guests can relax while henna artists work. It suits a backyard or a tented lawn in the afternoon or evening.
The look

- Colourful cushions on every sofa
- Umbrellas or canopies in bright fabric
Setup ideas
How to set it up

Questions
Marigold mehndi party FAQs
How many henna artists do I need?
One artist covers about 15 to 20 guests with simple designs in three hours. The bride's own henna takes several hours on its own.
What seating works for a mehndi?
A mix of sofas, armchairs and a few chairs for elders. Floor seating looks beautiful but always add chairs.
How big a dance floor does a sangeet need?
Sangeets dance more than most receptions. Plan for a third of guests on the floor at once at about 9 square feet each: 300 guests means roughly 900 square feet, or a 30 by 30 foot floor.
What size stage works for an Indian wedding reception?
Eight 4 by 8 foot stage sections make a 16 by 16 foot stage, enough for a sofa, a backdrop and the couple's families for photos.
