Seated dinner: 10-12 sq ft per guest. Standing cocktail: 6-8 sq ft. Add room for dance floor, bar and buffet.

Pole tents are staked into grass; frame tents can sit on pavement with water barrels or concrete weights.

Many Chicago-area towns require a permit for tents over 400 sq ft, and staking needs a utility locate (JULIE in Illinois).

How much does it cost to rent a Clear-top tent in Chicago?

$1,540 each for one event day, based on current Chicago-area market rates. Delivery and pickup (usually $150-$400 per order), setup, a damage waiver (about 10%) and sales tax are added for your venue, so a delivered order typically costs 35-60% more than the rental rates alone. Multi-day rentals are quoted on request.

Can you deliver a Clear-top tent to my venue?

Yes. We arrange delivery, setup and pickup anywhere in Chicago & suburbs, including Evanston, Oak Park, Oak Brook, Schaumburg, Naperville and nearby towns. Tell us about stairs, elevators or load-in windows and we include them in the quote.

How far ahead should I reserve?

For May to October weekends, reserve 2-4 months ahead; tents, specialty chairs and dance floors go first. For other dates, 2-4 weeks is usually enough. Your quote holds nothing until you approve it.

How big a tent do I need for 100 guests?

For a seated dinner, about 1,000-1,200 sq ft, which is a 30x40 tent, or a 40x40 if you add a dance floor and buffet. For a standing cocktail party, a 20x40 tent works.

Do I need a permit for a tent in Chicago?

Chicago and many suburbs require a permit for tents over a set size (often 400 sq ft or larger) or with sidewalls. Most tent vendors handle the permit and the JULIE utility locate for you.
