30 inch cocktail table: Seating & Floor Space
Standing height tables for cocktail hours. Guests stand, so no chairs are needed unless you add a few bar stools. Here is what it seats, how much floor it takes and how many you need for your guest count.
How many tables do you need?
| Guests | Tables at 3 each | Tables at 4 each |
|---|---|---|
| 20 | 7 | 5 |
| 50 | 17 | 13 |
| 100 | 34 | 25 |
| 150 | 50 | 38 |
Space and layout tips
Plan about 4 ft circle for standing guests. Leave service aisles of about 4 to 5 feet between tables so servers and guests can pass behind seated chairs.
The comfortable number is better than the maximum for plated service. Squeezing 4 guests around a table limits elbow room and slows service.
